Hycoat Contamination Lawsuit

Justice Law has filed a national class action lawsuit on behalf of horse owners and veterinarians impacted by contaminated Hycoat injections. If your horse suffered injury, fungal infection, lameness, or euthanasia following treatment, you may be eligible for compensation.

According to preliminary investigations and reports from veterinarians in multiple states, the medication—marketed for the treatment of common equine conditions—may have been distributed in contaminated batches. Owners began reporting severe adverse reactions in their animals shortly after administration, including infection, acute organ failure, neurological distress, and, in numerous cases, death.

“Horsemen and veterinarians trusted that the medication they were administering met the highest safety and quality standards,” said Cam Justice, lead counsel at Justice Law. “Now, families, breeders, trainers, and equestrian professionals are facing devastating losses—both emotional and financial—due to what appears to be a preventable failure in the manufacturing and quality control process.”

Statement from Justice Law

“We could not ignore what we found in our investigation, especially due to documented sterility concerns.”

“These companies must be held accountable. We will fight aggressively for our clients.”

The firm is focusing its investigation on manufacturing contamination, sterility control failures, and delays in risk notifications.

“Our goal is accountability,” Cam Justice added. “Pharmaceutical manufacturers have a legal and ethical duty to ensure their products are safe. When that duty is breached, and animals suffer, those responsible must be held liable.”

Justice Law encourages affected owners, trainers, and veterinarians to preserve medical records, packaging, and any relevant communications, like texts and emails, and to call Justice Law for a free evaluation.
